National Nonprofit Seeks Sacramento-area Board Director with Accounting Experience

RedRover is a national animal welfare nonprofit organization headquartered in Sacramento, California. Since 1987, RedRover’s mission has been to bring animals out of crisis and strengthen the bond between people and animals through emergency sheltering, disaster relief services, financial assistance, and education. As a proud recipient of a coveted 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator, they’re accountable, transparent, and financially healthy. Plus they are all animal lovers!   

RedRover is currently seeking a volunteer Board Director who lives in the greater Sacramento area to serve as Treasurer. Board Directors service two, three-year terms. The volunteer position requires:

• Chairing the Internal Affairs Finance Committee;
• Applying their accounting knowledge to monitor finances;
• Directing or overseeing the preparation of financial reports for the Board;
• Working with other board officers, the President and CEO, and the Director of Finance and Administration to develop financial plans and prepare the organization’s budget;
• Reviewing annual audit and tax forms, approving large expenses and presenting the financial material to the board, and 
• Attending quarterly board meetings and analyze financial reports
