Organizational Description:

Inneract Project (IP) is a nonprofit organization, founded in 2004, working to empower the next generation of  Black, Latinx, and underrepresented designers of color.  IP provides free design classes and initiatives that introduce students to the design field in hopes of channeling their creativity into exciting new career paths. Inneract Project is committed to reshaping the design and tech industries so that more Black, Latinx, and underrepresented folks of color are present, empowered, and supported.

OVERVIEW

This role is a hybrid unpaid volunteer position dedicated to contributing to the visual & oral communication of Inneract’s vision and mission. The focus is on reshaping the design and tech industries to ensure greater representation, empowerment, and support for Black, Latinx, and underrepresented individuals. Collaborating with our Programs Team, you will actively promote IP programs, events, and resources within the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Share compelling details about IP’s programs/events, including Meet and Greet, Summer Program, Classroom Talks, CAH’s, and other opportunities
• Collaborate with  IP staff member(s)  to encourage community sign-ups for IP’s newsletter and followership  on social media platforms
• Uphold IP’s mission and community values in every interaction.
• Provide information on IP Programs / Events and guide individuals on where/how to sign up for participation
• Demonstrate the ability to address frequently asked questions (FAQs) from community members about IP

 QUALIFICATIONS 

• Demonstrates experience in customer service, marketing, and/ or sales
• Experience in a part-time role  (contractor and/or volunteer) 
• Demonstrates commitment to the mission 
• Experience working in underrepresented communities  and/ or non-profit organizations  
• Ability to multi-task and possess interpersonal skills 
• Bilingual is a plus, but not required  
• Willingness to travel within the Bay Area 

COMMITMENT/TERM

This position requires a minimum  7-month commitment for an average of 2-4 hours per week and is categorized as a hybrid role. Position commitment is subject to renewal and extension by agreement from both parties.
