Thank you for taking the time to consider delivering to those who can no longer leave their homes and/or have a difficult time preparing meals. Adequate nutrition is essential to remaining healthy as a senior and a friendly conversation and daily safety check reminds our home bound seniors they matter to us.

Seniors First is the Meals on Wheels agency for Orange County. Meals are prepared and packaged fresh each morning. Volunteers then deliver the meals and so much more. For many seniors, volunteers are the only visitor they will have on a given day.

Our Meals on Wheels program has 10 pick-up sites for multiple meal delivery routes across Orange County, Florida. These sites are designated places where volunteers go to pick up meals for delivery to home bound seniors. Each site is the hub for the surrounding meal delivery routes, making it more convenient for volunteers.

Over 300 volunteers are needed to deliver over 356,000 meals to over 1,400 recipients each year in the greater Orlando area. That’s 900-1,100 meals delivered each day. Most volunteers deliver meals one day a week.

Meal delivery occurs weekdays, between 9:00am and 12:00pm. All routes take approximately 1 ½ hours with an average of 10 delivery stops. You will need to provide your own transportation and gas. Volunteer requirements include a valid driver’s license, completion of the volunteer training class and a background screening in addition to a caring attitude and compassion to serve seniors.
