There is a Hunger crisis in New York City and our work to end it is far from over. Volunteers have made a huge impact at TCAH this past year and we would love to have you join our team. We could use your help at our Food Hub with packing produce bags, distribution, line management, and more.
Food Hub Assistant
Location: 744 Berriman Street, Brooklyn NY 11208 |Hours: 8:00 AM TO 6:00 PM|
Age restrictions: 16 years and older. You must be accompanied by a parent/guardian if under 16.
Volunteers should be prepared to stand, bend, lift, and lift boxes of about 20-25 lbs.
Description of volunteer duties: An individual would be expected to complete the following:
Packing Grocery Bags - this includes weekend healthy snack bags and produce bags
Packing Birthday Kits for schools
Palletizing food for distribution
Filing or scanning Paperwork
Baling Cardboard
Bagging and Labeling laundry detergent
Completing a Spot check or count of inventory on hand
Consolidating pallets and organizing the warehouse area.
2 shifts available:
- Assist staff with packing and completing individual client orders to be picked up by DoorDash employees.: 10:00 to 14:00 EST
- Assist staff with packing and completing individual client orders to be picked up by DoorDash employees.: 14:00 to 18:00 EST
