About Us:
We are a community-based composting, pollinator, and environmental education project in Antigua, Guatemala, working to transform waste into resources, restore ecosystems, and foster a culture of sustainability. We're seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and self-motivated volunteer to join our team through a Workaway-style exchange.

What You’ll Do (20 hrs/week):
Depending on your skills and interests, you may take on one or more of the following roles:
- Pollinator & Garden Support – Help care for our butterfly hatchery and pollinator garden, contributing to habitat restoration and community education (experience with pollinators is a plus, but not required)
- Content Creator / Graphic Designer / Writer – Document our work, create social media content, design educational materials, or assist with grant writing
- Educator / Workshop Assistant – Help lead compost, pollinator, or sustainability education in schools or the community
- Fundraising Assistant – Support donor outreach, events, or campaigns
- Compost Crew Member – Flip compost piles, clean and prep buckets, manage physical tasks around the site (requires physical fitness and comfort with manual work)
- Route Assistant – Ride along on collection routes, swap buckets, and engage with customers (requires physical fitness and comfort with manual work; comfort driving a manual transmission truck is a plus, but not required)
Who You Are:
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Emotionally intelligent, mature, and responsible
- Competent and confident living and working independently
- Previous travel, solo living, or work experience
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks (for compost or route support roles)
- Comfortable driving a manual transmission vehicle or truck (optional, but a plus)
- Creative, energetic, and eager to contribute
- Interest and experience in composting, pollinators, permaculture, sustainable agriculture or bioconstruction (a strong plus)
Time Commitment:
- Minimum 3-month stay with the option to extend to 6 months
- 20 hours/week (flexible scheduling depending on tasks)
