Productivity & Training Specialist (Volunteer)

A Free Bird is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in New York City. We empower children diagnosed with cancer to discover and explore their artistic passions. Through creativity, we provide a vital outlet for self-expression, resilience, and healing.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Productivity & Training Specialist to help our teams perform at their best by developing engaging training resources and productivity tools. This role is perfect for someone with strong instructional design skills and an interest in leveraging technology—especially AI—to make learning efficient, practical, and impactful. You’ll be central in building resources that support both employees and volunteers across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop training materials, including guides, presentations, and short videos
- Use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to draft, edit, and refine learning content
- Build and maintain knowledge repositories and productivity dashboards
- Collaborate with HR/Admin to align training content with organizational needs and processes
- Support onboarding and ongoing learning initiatives for volunteers and staff
Skills & Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in instructional design, training, or content development (nonprofit experience a plus)
- Strong content creation and instructional design skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Familiarity with AI-based tools for content generation and a willingness to learn new technologies
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
- Creative mindset with the ability to make training engaging and easy to follow
