Be Part of the Solution! Join Our Pet Meals-on-Wheels Team

Are you somebody that loves pets and is passionate about community outreachprograms and how they relate to people? In honor of the unconditional love our pets give their owner, the OHS Pet Meals-on-Wheels (PMOW) program was developed to assist more pet owners in caring for and keeping their pets regardless of circumstance. Come join our team as an individual or company group and find out how we help people of very low or no income feed their pets. It's such a rewarding program that keeps pet families together plus feeling better and hopefully results in fewer pets having to enter the shelter system.

Various Team Assignments:

• Help bag pet food and build pet care packages for the community. Packing can be done either at home or onsite at our Pet Pantry location in Fremont on various days.
• Inventory our donations and help keep supplies well organized and accessible for the packers.
• Be a donation driver. Help pick up approved donations and deliver to any one of our several community partner sites. Deliveries take about an hour and fall mainly within the Tri-City areas. As a volunteer, you would be using your own car and fuel to pick up the items from the Pet Pantry and deliver to the designated center or community client.
• Or simply join in on the fun by handing out what is sorted and packed at any one of our local mobile pet pantry partner sites and report back on progress and needs. The distributions generally happen once a week or bi-monthly depending on the location and the demand.
• Be a donation food-raiser by cultivating, creating and maintaining community partnerships.

Skills/Competencies:

• Works well with others, is creative, team oriented, and has good follow-through skills
• Strong organizational skills, self-motivated yet able to follow directions and protocols
• Community experience a plus, but not required

Who should apply:

• Someone with a passion for the community and has a fundamental love for animals
• Likes to help people and their fur babies in need
