About us

The Sue Duncan Children's Center is a non-profit after-school tutoring and mentoring program for underprivileged children on Chicago's South Side. The Center, which is located in the Jackie Robinson Elementary School in the Oakland neighborhood, has 110 students enrolled ranging from kindergarten to senior year of high school. The Center strives to provide students – who come from neighborhoods where crime and poverty are endemic – with the academic and social skills necessary to become responsible, productive adults.
