Description

The Life Enrichment Center at Oyster Bay (formerly Doubleday Babcock Senior Center) is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit, multi-purpose community based center that began in 1977 in the Parish Hall of Christ Episcopal Church. The recent name change reflects the Center's goal of appealing to younger, more active seniors. In 1998, the Center obtained its own building near the center of Oyster Bay, where it serves the increasing diverse needs and interests of all residents over 50 years of age in the surrounding communities.

The Mission Statement

"We are a lifestyle organization enabling people over 50 to age in place and live independently by receiving continuous community-based services promoting a healthy mind and body." The Center creates a welcome setting where members can participate at whatever level they choose as they progress through the various stages of later life, maintaining their dignity and independence throughout.
