Sobre Nós

The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is a "home away from home" providing comfort and shelter to families experiencing the pain of having a sick child in an area hospital.

Our mission is to strive in all ways possible to relieve the sress of pain and illness by minimizing disruption in the family's life.

When The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island opened its doors in September 28, 1986, it was designated as the 100th House of 259 Ronald McDonald houses that exist around the world. Since then, the House has served approximately 9,500 families locally and across the globe. The bulk of families who reside at the House are from the Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Suffolk and Nassau Counties.

Volunteers are the “heart” of the House and have been an integral part of its daily operation since the very beginning. 220 dedicated volunteers do everything from clerical, administrative and hospitality to speaking at public engagements on behalf of the House.
