The Teenage Girlhood

The Teenage Girlhood is a community built for teenage girls, by teenage girls. We aim to inspire, empower, and support teenage girls by creating a safe and collaborative community. To do this, we need the help of the volunteers who make TTG possible. We offer several volunteer opportunities, as shown below. We hope you join the TTG community and help the girls of our future flourish!

1. Guest Speaker: This role is open to all ages. Guest Speakers discuss, educate, and answer questions on a topic that pertains to them and interests teen girls. For example, a school-aged speaker could present on balancing sports and academics, whereas an adult speaker could present on their career path or a hobby of theirs. Guest Speakers will gain one volunteer hour per 30-minute “Girl Talk” call, remotely held over Google Meet.
2. Big Sister: Big Sister is a role open to high school-aged girls. The big sisters will participate in our program “Big Sister, Little Sister,” where middle and high school girls are paired based on their interests and personalities. The high school girl takes on the role of a "big sister" to the middle school girl, giving their “little sister” companionship and guidance. The big sister prepares conversation topics and activities based on their shared interests. In return, the big sister gets one volunteer hour per 30-minute video call with their little sister. The sisters meet at least once a week and discuss scheduling to find a time that works best for them. Aside from individual benefits, the sisters learn from each other and gain an invaluable friendship!
3. TTG Ambassador: This role is open to middle-college-aged girls. Ambassadors spread the word about TTG in their community through fliers, word of mouth, etc. Ambassadors are also required to help create content for TTG’s social media and have the opportunity to do this in multiple ways (graphic design, speaking in videos, etc.)
