Are you a high school-aged or older musician hoping to spread cheer by giving back to your community? Musical Cheer is the perfect organization for you! At Musical Cheer, we connect talented and compassionate high school-aged musicians with opportunities to play music at senior living facilities in Fairfield County, Connecticut. We have no minimum commitment—volunteers can choose when they want to perform based on what works best for them.
Why should YOU volunteer?
Join us at Musical Cheer and make a lasting impact through the gift of music!
You can become a volunteer today in 5 simple steps:
Step 1: Fill out the Volunteer Interest Form. Make and attach an unedited recording of yourself playing one piece or song that best reflects your ability. Feel free to select music from any genre that might appeal to our senior audience. We are not looking for perfection! We are just trying to make sure that our volunteers are prepared. Please note that if you have a recommendation from your music teacher, you are not required to submit an audition video. However, you must still complete the Volunteer Interest Form.
Step 2: You will be informed of our decision. Please note that the “audition” phase of your application is very informal; we just want to make sure that the music you may play is suitable for our senior audience. However, if we do not accept your recording the first time, please feel free to submit another recording subsequently.
Step 3: We will email you when a volunteer opportunity is available.
Step 4: Sign up and confirm that you are willing and able to volunteer.
Step 5: Arrive 10-15 minutes beforehand, perform and make a positive impact on your gracious audience!
