Ramzuna Languages - For Palestine

Ramzunā Languages is a global network of educators who provide free online language instruction to Palestinian students. We are a group of volunteers, with teaching qualifications and extensive experience in NGOs, who decided to establish Ramzunā Languages as a direct response to the outright destruction of Palestinian universities and schools caused by the Israeli military operation in Gaza. Education is a fundamental right, as recognised by the UDHR and international law treaties, and our purpose is to address the critical need for more personalised and specialised language instruction.

Our Approach

We have designed our educational programmes to maximise students' progress.

Personalised One-to-One Tutoring: Individual lessons are tailored to each student's specific goals, interests, pace, and needs. This approach improves learning efficiency and fosters deep, long-lasting educational relationships.

Expanded Language Pathways: Our focus includes languages essential for international mobility: English, French, and German. English serves as a foundational language, while the inclusion of French and German provides critical, alternative pathways for Palestinian students living in Gaza, the West Bank, and abroad to access scholarships and higher education across Europe and North America.

The Meaning Behind Our Name

The name Ramzunā pays homage to the resilience of the Palestinian people. It comes from the Arabic word ‘Ramz’ (رمز), meaning 'symbol' or 'sign.' This concept is directly linked to the patriotic Palestinian poem 'Mawtini' (My Homeland), which describes Palestine as a land of sacrifice, glory, and pride.

By adopting the name Ramzunā, we wish to embody a symbol of hope and resistance, illustrating the resilience of the Palestinian spirit in pursuing education and empowerment, even in the face of destruction.
