New Faces of Democracy is a podcast that celebrates ordinary people doing extraordinary things to stand up for democracy. These are regular citizens who are starting organizations, running for office or otherwise using their political voice and exercising their civic responsibility. The conversations I have on the podcast are intended to spread the word about these inspiring groups and individuals, keep people motivated and engaged, and chronicle the extraordinary civic and democratic energy at this time in history. In past seasons, I have spoken with people as diverse as quilters and tech entrepreneurs, fashion designers and professors, women’s rights activists, voting rights activists and climate activists, each one of them using their unique talents and passion to fight for the America they believe in. In these short profiles, listeners hear their stories and learn about their missions. And if they want to get involved, there are action steps to help them get started.
