    Descrição

This position is being posted on behalf of Avow Texas.

    Avow Texas

Avow Texas is working to build a Texas where every person is trusted, thriving, and free to pursue the life they want. Through legislative advocacy, grassroots organizing, voter engagement, and values-based messaging, Avow leads bold strategies to secure abortion access and reproductive justice for all Texans. We fight against stigma and disinformation, build power with Texans, and advance a vision of reproductive justice rooted in pro-abortion values.

Senior Manager of Operations and Finance

    Hiring Profile

Avow is seeking an organized operations and finance whiz who brings clarity, strategic alignment, and an unwavering commitment to reproductive justice. The Senior Manager of Operations and Finance will be responsible for managing the operational functions of Avow, ensuring the organization's systems run smoothly and effectively to support its mission. This role calls for someone who loves to crunch numbers, feels at home in a spreadsheet, and is prepared to “get all of our ducks in a row.” We’re looking for an expert who can support Avow’s work through their dedication to transparency, compliance, and operational excellence.

This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure and Alignment. The Infrastructure and Alignment Team advances the Avow mission by stewarding the systems, structures, and internal communications that keep Avow’s strategy and operations in sync. We ensure the organization functions smoothly, equitably, and in alignment with our values, so every team is resourced, supported, and free to focus on building power for abortion access and reproductive justice in Texas.

    Salary & Benefits

Avow offers a four-day work week for all employees as part of our commitment to sustainability and work-life balance. Our benefits package includes:

    • Employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
    • Short- and long-term disability plans
    • Retirement plan with employer match
    • Unlimited paid time off and flex time
    • Up to 6 months of paid family and medical leave
    • Stipends for remote work and wellness
    • Annual professional development stipend

The salary range for this full-time role is $65,000 to $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Within this range, we determine the starting salary based on a candidate’s depth of relevant experience, demonstrated skills, and alignment with the role’s core responsibilities. Candidates with extensive expertise in multi-entity nonprofit operations and finance, particularly within advocacy settings, and a proven track record of managing complex budgets and compliance requirements, may be considered for the higher end of the range.

    Requirements & Preferences

The listed qualifications and preferences reflect the skills we believe will support success in this role, but they are not mandatory for consideration. Avow welcomes candidates with a mix of professional and lived experience, recognizing that skills and expertise are developed in many ways. If you are passionate about reproductive justice and believe you can thrive in this position, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every listed requirement.

    Required Qualifications

You’ll be a fit for this role if your experience includes 5+ years of:

    • Served as the point person or responsible party for managing virtual "office" administration, IT, and logistics, preferably in a remote environment and in services of a nonprofit or advocacy organization.
    • Worked with legal counsel and/or compliance filing partners for entities that share resources (for example, a 501c3 and 501c4 who share personnel) to ensure accurate and on-time corporate filings, tax returns, financial reports, and other regulatory filings. AVOW operates a c3, c4, and PAC (Political Action Committee) and you'll be responsible for ensuring compliance and filings for both the c3 and c4.
    • Coordinated and worked with legal counsel, certified public accountants, and other professionals to prepare and submit accurate and timely financial and compliance reports, including the IRS Form 990 and other required filings.
    • Developed project plans (goals, benchmarks, milestones, and resourcing) for multiple projects and coordinated many stakeholders to accomplish the goals on-time and with the desired outcome.
    • Worked with legal counsel and internal stakeholders to negotiate and complete the contracting process for independent contractors. Served as the primary point of contact for billing, payments, and resolving concerns and conflicts with contractors.
    • Provided executive leadership with the financial reporting and analysis needed to make budget decisions.
    • Directed internal accounting or outsource accounting partner and coordinated with internal stakeholders to process accounts payable, expense reporting, and payroll processing.
    • Experience designing, implementing, and managing systems and processes from start to finish with excitement to advise from their previous experience and take advantage of an opportunity to learn and manage new systems.
    • Initiated and maintained clear, timely communication with colleagues across departments using Slack, Google Workspace, and video conferencing to support collaboration in a remote environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

While not required, you will be an excellent fit for this role if your experience includes 2-3 years of:

    • Experience in a reproductive justice or advocacy organization, and a commitment to Avow’s mission of advancing access to abortion and reproductive justice.
    • Experience assessing risk and facilitating digital security for a remote, advocacy nonprofit. While prior experience in this area is a plus, the necessary training and resources will be provided.

    Priority Application Deadline

We strongly encourage early submissions. Applications received by August 31, 2025 will be given priority consideration.

    Equal Opportunity Employer

Avow is committed to building a team that reflects the diverse communities at the heart of the reproductive justice movement. We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. It is our policy to recruit, hire, train, promote, and administer all personnel practices without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, immigration status, socioeconomic status, ancestry, age, size, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, familial status, reproductive choice, veteran status, disability, AIDS/HIV status, medical condition, prior conviction, arrest history, traits historically associated with race, (including, but not limited to, hair texture and protective hairstyles), or any other characteristic protected by law.
