Accounting/bookkeeping business working exclusively with nonprofit organizations is seeking a junior bookkeeper to assist with monthly bookkeeping. This position will start as a part-time position (20 hours/week) with opportunities to move to full-time.
Required qualifications/skills:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting OR 1-2 years of direct bookkeeping experience in a nonprofit organization.
- Interest in developing your bookkeeping/accounting skills in nonprofit accounting
- Proficient with QuickBooks Online accounting software
- Proficient with MS Excel
The work in this position will be 100% remote: regular access to a secure, private work space is required. Preference will be given to candidates who reside in the Washington, DC metro area, to allow for the opportunity for occasional in-person meetings.

With the exception of weekly meetings by video and the occasional need to work with clients in real time, the junior bookkeeper will be able to choose the days/hours necessary to complete the work in the allotted number of hours per week. The junior bookkeeper will also be able to choose where they work, as long as they are in a secure environment - for their person and the sensitive financial information they will be accessing.
No other benefits are offered at this time for the part-time position.
