    Salary Range: $25/hour to $30/hour

(Global) is a consulting firm specializing in a diverse array of services for municipal, public agency, and nonprofit clients, including grant writing and administration, community outreach, innovative program design and management, expert technical assistance, graphic design, and communications.

    Global's Grant Acquisition Team supports public-sector and nonprofit clients throughout California by securing state, federal, and foundation grant funding.     Overview

    Global seeks a highly motivated Grant Writer to join our growing team. This individual will work with the Grant Acquisition Team to support the grant application process for various clients and funding organizations. The Grant Writer will conduct grant opportunity research, maintain internal department documents, analyze demographic data, assist with grant writing, and perform other tasks as necessary to support other members of the Grant Acquisition Team.

    The ideal candidate will have experience in technical writing, strong verbal and written communication skills, and an understanding of local government structures and grant-writing processes. Success in this role requires attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with internal and external departments.

    This position is full-time and remote, with the ability to work from anywhere in the United States. Working hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.. Employees may be required to adjust their working hours to accommodate time zone differences. Work authorization in the United States is mandatory.     Responsibilities

    Grants

    • Update grant matrices for core clients to include a current list of funding opportunities.
    • Review and create detailed breakdowns of Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs), outlining key dates, application requirements, and funder priorities.
    • Assist the Senior Grant Writers in developing grant applications, including project narratives, budgets, timelines, letters of support, standard forms, and other required documents.

    Proposals

    • Support the Grant Acquisition Team in developing proposals for grant writing services in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
    • Use boilerplate information from previous submissions and draft original content as needed, in alignment with the RFP requirement
    • Complete attachments for bid submissions, ensuring all necessary organizational and project details are clearly and correctly provided according to the client's specifications.
    • Update RFP matrices to keep our team informed on all RFPs being pursued actively.

    Other

    • Maintain records of department-related documents, including drafts, final submissions, relevant research, and reports; update databases or tracking systems with grant statuses and deadlines.
    • Participate in team meetings and strategy sessions to enhance grant acquisition and improve internal processes and documentation practices.
    • Assist with administrative tasks and projects assigned.

    Qualifications

    • A bachelor's degree in English, communications, sociology, journalism, public administration, urban planning, public health, or a related field; OR instead of a degree, four years of relevant experience, which may include internships, volunteer work, and/or professional employment pertinent to the job responsibilities above.
    • 1-3 years of experience in grant writing, technical/copywriting, fundraising, local government, or related field.
    • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
    • Proficiency in conducting thorough research and synthesizing complex information.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with team members.
    • Ability to adapt writing styles and proposal components to meet the specific needs of different funders and projects.
    • Proficiency with office software and project management systems.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in grant writing or fundraising.
    • Experience working with local government and/or understanding of government structure.
    • Coursework or certifications in grant or proposal writing.
    • Experience engaging with and supporting marginalized groups, demonstrating sensitivity and understanding of the challenges these communities face.
    • Knowledge of social justice and racial equity issues, including historical and systemic inequalities that affect various groups.
