We’re looking for a Lead Assistant Editor to serve as a central part of our post-production operation, helping manage media and projects from ingest through final delivery.

Position Overview

This is a full-time, remote position for an experienced Assistant Editor with strong technical skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and professional post-production workflows. You’ll work closely with producers and editors to ingest and organize footage, prepare projects for editors, manage media across our remote team, maintain backups, troubleshoot technical issues, coordinate edit schedules, and help finalize and deliver completed projects.

This is a hands-on technical role. We’re looking for someone who loves a well-organized project, has exceptional attention to detail, and is comfortable figuring out solutions when something doesn’t work as expected.

Qualifications

Required

Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and professional post-production workflows including:

• Creating multicams.
• Using Text Window for creating transcripts and captions.
• Media ingesting, organization, relinking, consolidation, and archiving.
• Experience with proxy workflows, transcoding, encoding, and final outputs.
• Pulling selects and creating stringouts based on scripts or outlines.
• Common professional codecs, frame rates, resolutions, and delivery specifications.
• Experience preparing and transferring Premiere projects and large media libraries for remote editors.
• Ability to reformat sequences and finished projects for different resolutions and aspect ratios.
• Licensing and managing stock footage, imagery, and music.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote environment.

Successful candidates will also:

• Have reliable high-speed internet at their remote workplace.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Be fluent in English. Spanish, French or ASL a big plus.

Preferred

The following skills and platforms are not required, but candidates with experience with some or all of these platforms will stand out:

• Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Riverside, Rev, Dropbox, Airtable, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Slack.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: $28/hour
• Schedule: Full-time
• Classification: Non-exempt, with overtime paid in accordance with applicable law.
• Paid time off, with accrual increasing based on years of service.
• Nine paid floating holidays.
• Paid company-wide winter hiatus from December 24 through January 1, separate from PTO.
• Medical reimbursement benefit of up to $200 per month for qualifying medical expenses, including health insurance premiums. Internet reimbursement of up to $75 per month for high-speed internet service at the employee’s primary work location.

Block by Block Creative offers paid time off, with accrual increasing based on years of service; nine paid floating holidays; and a paid company-wide winter hiatus from December 24 through January 1 that is separate from PTO.
