Job Title: Senior Nonprofit Finance & Operations Advisor
Type: Part-Time (with opportunity to scale to Full-time); Also open to independent contractors.
Compensation: $50-$65/hour – commensurate with nonprofit-specific experience and demonstrated impact. Rate is determined primarily by the candidate’s background and depth of experience in the nonprofit sector, rather than education or general professional tenure.

Background: NPOC Services has provided specialized, outsourced finance operations support exclusively for small nonprofit organizations across the country since 2014. NPOC’s services cover a wide array of operational functions such as bookkeeping & financial reporting, administrative support, payroll and HR benefits management, and Information Technology. NPOC Services also offers executive-level management and consulting, as well as special projects, audit support, and infrastructure development & strategic planning. NPOC customizes services to meet specific needs of an organization and provides flexibility to expand or retract services as needs change.
The Client Executive at NPOC is a versatile professional responsible for ensuring client (external) success across a wide range of functions. This role is ideal for a "jack of all trades" leader who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and is comfortable managing multiple priorities. The Client Executive will serve as a key point of contact for a portfolio of clients. This role requires previous experience as a customer/client success manager, manager or director of operations, human resources, or finance or chief-of-staff. Non-profit experience is also a plus.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Account Management & Client Success
- Lead client accounts, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring all operational and financial deliverables meet objectives and expectations;
- Work to execute on client deliverables.
- Maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Oversee and coordinate project tasks, timelines, and quality standards.
Financial Collaboration & Oversight
- Serve as a thought partner and adviser to client leaders on matters related to finance to help clients’ organizations meet their strategic goals.
- Execute on day-to-day accounting needs (cleaning of the books, execution of payables and receivables)
- Attending board, finance, staff, and donor meetings as needed to provide a clear and accurate financial picture, ensure necessary reports, documentation, analyses are created to support these stakeholders.
- Budget development and monitoring: work with and in some instances guide client leadership teams and program staff to develop organizational and individual program budgets, detailing revenue, and expense categories.
- Ensure that financial management systems, policies, and procedures include all appropriate controls and are thoroughly documented to maintain the fiscal integrity of the organization.
- Supervision of and/or support of finance staff and/or financial contractors and review of all accounting and financial functions including, supervision of annual audits, financial systems and processes, cash receipts, billing, and accounts receivable, cash disbursements and accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, grant/contract invoicing, restricted funds tracking, cash flow, monthly financial reporting, benefits administration, compliance, leases/property, investment strategies, and reconciliations.
Leading of External and Internal Meetings
- Lead client-facing and internal meetings to support ongoing projects, service delivery, and relationship management.
- Prepare discussion materials and status updates in advance of meetings.
- Facilitate productive discussions between clients and internal teams to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and expectations.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to address client needs and maintain high service standards.
- Anticipate client concerns and proactively identify solutions or escalation paths.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- A successful candidate must have a positive attitude, enjoy a fast-paced environment, be highly organized without losing sight of larger objectives, and be committed to justice and equality for all- NPOC mainly services organizations with a progressive social mission.
- The qualified individual must pay exceedingly close attention to detail, have excellent judgment, and be able to work in a changing environment.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and networking skills with teams, as well as with individuals.
- Education & Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated roles in leadership capacity, including direct supervision of staff.
- Executive level management, especially in the nonprofit sector highly desired. A degree in a relative field a plus.
