Our services range from strategy development to press relations; from crisis management to training promising leaders for high-pressure media environments.
The Role
Be Clear seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Director of Operations to join our team. This is a full-time, remote role but candidates must be based in the Denver, Colorado, area.
We’re looking for an experienced operations professional who is passionate about developing efficiencies, improving systems, and enhancing communication. We’re also looking for someone who brings a strong commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment. In this role, you will streamline and manage operational functions, freeing up our leadership to focus on high-level strategy and client work.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage day-to-day operational tasks (e.g., state registrations, HR filings, billing, communication of internal policies, biweekly in-person mail sorting, IT support, back up to virtual EA on scheduling)
- Lead streamlined meetings with the Partners to work through operational projects, making efficient use of their time
- Manage HR functions and maintain company policies (e.g., hiring, onboarding, benefits, offboarding, sick leave, AI policy, employee recognition)
- Manage internal systems including Gusto, Google Drive, and Airtable
- Identify opportunities to streamline organizational operations, solve problems, and stay updated on HR policies
- Support contracting process and monthly billing, working in partnership with leadership and the firm’s bookkeeper
- Ensure smooth internal communications around team calendar and operational updates
- Organize retreat planning and programming (generally twice a year in Denver)
- Plan all-staff meetings and coordinate team-building activities such as lunch and learns
- Support professional development and performance management processes, for both staff and partners
- Order, manage, and distribute team materials and company merchandise
- Manage firm’s contact list and support mailings (e.g. holiday cards and gifts)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, and at least 2-3 years of experience performing tasks related to the responsibilities of this position
- Proven experience in operations, HR management, or similar roles
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to anticipate needs before they arise
- Familiarity with human resources management and productivity software platforms such as Gusto and Google Drive
- A commitment to advancing racial justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong track record of meeting deadlines and achieving project goals while maintaining high standards of detail and accuracy
- Strong understanding of organizational culture principles, with experience in fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, engagement, and continuous improvement
- Preference for candidates who bring 1) experience supporting a remote team across different U.S. states, 2) expertise using technology to enhance operational efficiency, and 3) a track record of implementing organizational processes in a remote environment
- Living in the Denver, Colorado, area is a requirement for this role.
