RACIAL EQUITY AND ANTI-RACISM: IMPACT, ADVOCACY, CHANGE AND IMPLEMENTATION

DEI initiatives are a step in the right direction, although equity was long overdue. We assumed that diversity and inclusivity would help change the narrative of social inequities of Black and Brown people, alike. What we forgot was Equity, Racial Equity, which is providing the necessary resources and means needed for that person to thrive and be successful on a level playing field (Dr.James Bell, III). What we were providing was Equality to a people who were already 400 years behind the curve.
