Bridge to Learning NYC LLC

        Our company Bridge to Learning NYC is a provider of Special  Education services to schools throughout New York City. We partner with schools and school districts and assign individuals into these elite schools.  Our goal is to provide schools with special education and literacy teachers that enable the schools to reach academic success. We pride ourselves with delivering the highest quality in educational services, while improving the grades and confidence of students.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include the following but are not limited to:

·Coordinate with school personnel to determine the focus and efforts in providing services to students based on their IEP.

·Work persistently to meet the goals of each child as stated on their IEP.

·Deliver measurable academic growth and increase achievement as stated on each student’s IEP.

·        Maintain accurate records and keep a weekly journal of student progress.

·Communicate and collaborate effectively with teachers to ensure knowledge of classroom standards.

·Conference with parents/guardians of assigned children by providing information on student progress.

·Advocate for more children to be evaluated if deemed necessary by the teacher and yourself.

 QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

·Strong instructional skills.

·Have a “do what it takes” attitude and commitment to developing the highest educational potential of individuals with learning disabilities.

·Knowledge of the IEP process.

·Highly Organized.

·Excellent communication skills.

 

Teachers must possess at least one the following certifications:

·Permanent Special Education or;

·Permanent, Initial, or Professional Certification in Reading or Literacy.

·Internship Certificate in Students with Disabilities or Literacy.

-Transitional B Certificate with Students with Disabilities or Literacy.

·New York State Certification in one of the following: 1-6, 5-9, 7-12 OR K-12 (High school Certification a big plus!)

 

You are ineligible to apply if you meet the following criteria:

·If you have the following certifications: General Education, English, ELA, Math or Birth-2nd grade.

·Teachers that were working in the NYC Public School System must be out of the system for at least 1 full year to perform contractual services.  This is due to a conflict of interest policy.

 HOURS

Teaching positions are available in schools and after school as well.  Positions can be part time or full time and are paid competitive hourly rates.

 COMPENSATION

This is a contract job and we offer a competitive salary.  Pay is commensurate upon review of credentials.
