    The North Brooklyn Coalition Against Family Violence empowers survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through culturally specific, trauma-informed, and bilingual (English/Spanish) services. We are committed to creating inclusive spaces that center the experiences of Black, Brown, immigrant, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized communities. Through direct support, education, and advocacy, we work to disrupt cycles of violence and address the root causes of harm, including systemic racism and other forms of oppression.

    Position Description: The Bilingual Case Manager (CM) provides high-quality, intensive case management through a survivor-centered, trauma-informed approach for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The CM role includes a combination of case management, emotional support & advocacy services in accordance with the mission, goals, objectives, core values and personnel policies of NBC. The CM will also advocate within systems to improve access to services, resources, and justice for DV survivors and serves as a key contact to external agencies on behalf of program participants. The ideal candidate is highly motivated to learn, to be a team player and to serve others with compassion.

    Essential Duties:

    • Complete intakes and comprehensive assessments to determine needs for safety and stability
    • Provide crisis intervention and case management services, including emotional support, safety planning, and DV education, to caseload survivors
    • Provide personal advocacy to survivors as well as accompaniment to various places including but not limited to; HRA offices, court, and police precincts as needed
    • Collaborate with community partners and providers to ensure survivors have access to services.
    • Attend any meetings or appointments that will assist in providing quality advocacy to survivors
    • Co-facilitate support groups for survivors
    • Collect, enter and update all required data into the software system and ensure data accuracy
    • Actively participate in weekly supervision, all-staff and direct service meetings and regularly required trainings.
    • Outreach survivors at events and attend events to raise awareness in domestic violence/sexual assault
    • Support agency-wide culture that fosters accountability and ongoing skill-building
    • Other duties will be assigned as required.

    Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

    • A Bachelors Degree.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
    • Knowledge of and sensitivity for domestic violence and sexual assault victims is required.
    • Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence and the impact of trauma.
    • Commitment to a social justice framework.
    • Strong interpersonal, crisis intervention, empathetic, analytical and active listening skills
    • Understanding of different cultural backgrounds and the ability to provide services that respect these differences.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and documentation.
    • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and maintain detailed records.
    • Be a team player with enthusiasm about working in a linguistically and culturally diverse environment.

    Work Schedule

    • This is an hourly, non-exempt position
    • Monday – Friday 9 AM – 5 PM hybrid schedule
    • This is hybrid position with two days on-site at our office in Brooklyn, and 3 days remote
    • Expected to have some flexibility, including occasional evening coverage, to accommodate survivor appointments, agency outreach, and community events

    Salary: $48,000 to $50,000 Salary including full benefits with generous leave and time off.
