Mental health is everyone’s business. In Washington state, more than 1.6 million adults live with a mental illness - yet too many face stigma, isolation, or long waits for care. NAMI Seattle is a trusted community voice and connector, bringing hope, education, and peer support so that no one faces mental health challenges alone.
As the founding chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI Seattle has been a lifeline for over 40 years. What began as a grassroots movement of families and individuals who were determined to change the way our community understands and addresses mental illness at a time when stigma was even more pervasive than it is today, has grown into a respected nonprofit offering free, community-based, peer-led programs that bridge the gap between the medial model of care and the realities of daily life with a mental illness.
We are seeking a compassionate, strategic, and relationship-driven Executive Director to lead our next chapter. With a $600,000 annual budget, one year of reserves, a talented staff of five, dedicated volunteers, and strong community trust, the organization is well-positioned for growth and impact.
Reporting to and in partnership with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide overall leadership for strategy, operations, and finances. They will inspire and support a passionate staff and volunteer corps, partner with the Board to strengthen governance and organizational health, increase visibility and partnerships to advance impact and mental health advocacy, and ensure a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable organizational culture.
