About Candide Group:
Candide Group leverages capital to support the transition away from an extractive global economy to one rooted in social justice and sustainability. We work with families, foundations, and other clients to develop 100% mission-aligned portfolios — whether by managing their capital directly, collaborating with their existing financial advisors to design impact-oriented private market strategies, or through our debt vehicles, Olamina Fund and Afterglow Climate Justice Fund. Our work spans multiple sectors, with over 90% of the companies and funds in which we facilitate investments led by women and/or BIPOC leadership as of June 2025. Since inception, we have directed over $340M into more than 160 companies and funds, reflecting our strong commitment to equity and inclusion both within our team and in the organizations we support.
As a Registered Investment Advisor, we focus on private assets, including debt, private equity, real assets, and new structures, where real capital needs intersect with opportunities for mission-aligned impact, with the ability to build 100% portfolios across asset classes. We recognize that achieving our vision requires pursuing multiple strategies, from transformative investing to active advocacy, campaign participation, and public engagement. As we continue to grow, we are deepening relationships with families, foundations, and institutions who want their capital working for justice, through both our existing offerings and potential new investment vehicles that support our impact verticals. We encourage candidates to review our portfolio page for examples of the projects and funds we champion.
About this Position:
As we continue to grow our client base, Candide Group is seeking a Director of Business Development & Partnerships to lead fundraising and client acquisition. It is important to note that Candide primarily raises investment dollars versus grant dollars. This is a key leadership role responsible for expanding our relationships with families, foundations, and institutions who want their money working for justice. The Director will also play a strategic role in shaping and implementing Candide’s marketing and communications strategy, highlighting our thought leadership in impact investing as a means to strengthen the field and inspire broader systemic change — not just drive growth for Candide, but advance an industry that better serves people and communities. By strengthening Candide’s visibility and reputation, this role will help unlock new relationships and accelerate the growth of new Candide partners.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in raising capital from private and institutional investors, with a specific focus on family offices, foundations, and endowments. The candidate will also bring deep experience in business development, partnership building, client acquisition strategy, and institutional fundraising. They will also demonstrate strength in strategic communications and marketing, with the ability to craft and deliver compelling messages that cement Candide’s position as a trusted thought leader in impact investing. Finally, they should value a relationship-based approach to fundraising that is ultimately about advancing social justice, such that every interaction should hopefully help someone along in their impact journey, whether or not it ultimately results in a relationship with Candide Group.
We recognize that candidates may not have direct experience in every aspect of the role, but they should demonstrate meaningful expertise in several of the core responsibilities described. At a minimum, candidates will be confident in their ability to independently cultivate and steward relationships, design and execute fundraising strategies, and communicate Candide’s values-driven investment approach with both passion and authenticity.
