    Description

    About Candide Group:

Candide Group leverages capital to support the transition away from an extractive global economy to one rooted in social justice and sustainability. We work with families, foundations, and other clients to develop 100% mission-aligned portfolios — whether by managing their capital directly, collaborating with their existing financial advisors to design impact-oriented private market strategies, or through our debt vehicles, Olamina Fund and Afterglow Climate Justice Fund. Our work spans multiple sectors, with over 90% of the companies and funds in which we facilitate investments led by women and/or BIPOC leadership as of June 2025. Since inception, we have directed over $340M into more than 160 companies and funds, reflecting our strong commitment to equity and inclusion both within our team and in the organizations we support.

As a Registered Investment Advisor, we focus on private assets, including debt, private equity, real assets, and new structures, where real capital needs intersect with opportunities for mission-aligned impact, with the ability to build 100% portfolios across asset classes. We recognize that achieving our vision requires pursuing multiple strategies, from transformative investing to active advocacy, campaign participation, and public engagement. As we continue to grow, we are deepening relationships with families, foundations, and institutions who want their capital working for justice, through both our existing offerings and potential new investment vehicles that support our impact verticals. We encourage candidates to review our portfolio page for examples of the projects and funds we champion.

    About this Position:

As we continue to grow our client base, Candide Group is seeking a Director of Business Development & Partnerships to lead fundraising and client acquisition. It is important to note that Candide primarily raises investment dollars versus grant dollars. This is a key leadership role responsible for expanding our relationships with families, foundations, and institutions who want their money working for justice. The Director will also play a strategic role in shaping and implementing Candide’s marketing and communications strategy, highlighting our thought leadership in impact investing as a means to strengthen the field and inspire broader systemic change — not just drive growth for Candide, but advance an industry that better serves people and communities. By strengthening Candide’s visibility and reputation, this role will help unlock new relationships and accelerate the growth of new Candide partners.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in raising capital from private and institutional investors, with a specific focus on family offices, foundations, and endowments. The candidate will also bring deep experience in business development, partnership building, client acquisition strategy, and institutional fundraising. They will also demonstrate strength in strategic communications and marketing, with the ability to craft and deliver compelling messages that cement Candide’s position as a trusted thought leader in impact investing. Finally, they should value a relationship-based approach to fundraising that is ultimately about advancing social justice, such that every interaction should hopefully help someone along in their impact journey, whether or not it ultimately results in a relationship with Candide Group.

We recognize that candidates may not have direct experience in every aspect of the role, but they should demonstrate meaningful expertise in several of the core responsibilities described. At a minimum, candidates will be confident in their ability to independently cultivate and steward relationships, design and execute fundraising strategies, and communicate Candide’s values-driven investment approach with both passion and authenticity.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Fundraising & Client Acquisition

    • Lead fundraising and client acquisition for Candide Group, with a focus on large family offices, foundations, and institutional clients aligned with impact investing.
    • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of prospective clients and investors, ensuring steady growth in assets under management across Candide’s advisory platform and investment vehicles for the sake of creating more impact in the world.
    • Support fundraising strategy and investor engagement for current and potential future investment vehicles launched under Candide’s four impact verticals.
    • Build and steward relationships with key stakeholders including wealth advisors, consultants and mission-aligned networks.

    Business Development & Partnership Strategy

    • Design and implement a multi-year business development and partnership plan that integrates both advisory client growth and potential fund development.
    • Collaborate closely with investment, operations, and communications teams to ensure aligned messaging and effective outreach on behalf of Candide’s advisory and vehicle offerings.
    • Lead and manage the RFP process, including opportunity evaluation, drafting responses, coordinating input, and deciding on pursuit strategies.

    Strategic Communications & Marketing

    • Partner with Candide’s communications team to design and execute a marketing strategy that supports client acquisition and fundraising for both advisory and vehicle initiatives.
    • Ensure consistent, compelling messaging across investor presentations, proposals, thought leadership pieces, and events.
    • Identify opportunities for Candide to showcase expertise through media, speaking engagements, and partnerships with mission-aligned networks.
    • Leverage marketing analytics and feedback to refine outreach strategies and strengthen Candide’s visibility among prospective clients.

    Representation & Thought Leadership

    • Represent Candide Group at industry events, conferences, and in direct meetings with prospective clients and investors.
    • Share insights through thought leadership, presentations, and Candide communications.

    Pipeline & Reporting

    • Maintain detailed potential client pipeline management using CRM systems and provide regular updates on fundraising and client acquisition progress.
    • Collaborate with leadership to set goals and track progress against business development and partnership objectives.

Travel may be required (approximately 20-30%).

Additionally, we offer standard benefits such as health insurance, profit-sharing bonuses, staff professional development funds, and an employer-contributed socially responsible 401K plan.
