As seasoned professionals with over 30 years experience in state, federal, and appellate law, we are committed to elevating vulnerable voices and fighting for fairness. Fred is an experienced, passionate litigator, and thrives in the court room during trials. Our firm maintains the mission of standing up to civil injustice, fighting for those robbed of fundamental freedoms, we hold accountable any abuse of power that victimizes the vulnerable. Our areas of practice center around police brutality, sexual harassment, gender discrimination, false arrests, wrongful convictions, and employment discrimination.

    Role Description

    This is a full-time hybrid role for an Associate Attorney. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for researching legal issues, negotiating with opposing counsel, and handling all aspects of litigation. The role is primarily located in New York, NY and offers flexibility for remote work. Candidate must be located in New York in order to appear for Court. You will work side by side with Fred and our two other staff members on numerous cases. You will also be supported in any cases you bring into the office. As a small team, you must be willing to collaborate and take initiative on your work. Opportunity to learn civil rights law and some criminal law experience.

    Qualifications

    • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
    • 1 or more years experience working in civil litigation or similar area of practice, open to newly admitted attorneys
    • Strong understanding of law and legal principles
    • Excellent research and analytical skills
    • Ability to interpret and apply legal statutes and regulations
    • Admission to the New York Bar
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • A passion for civil rights is required
    • Bilingual a plus
