BDP Impact Real Estate was founded in 2014 with a simple but unconventional premise: private capital, structured correctly, can solve homelessness. We serve as Fund Manager for the Community Solutions Large Cities Housing Funds I and II, which raise capital from institutional investors and acquire existing multifamily properties in major cities across the country. Once acquired, 50% of units are dedicated to workforce housing and 50% provide permanent supportive housing for veterans and others experiencing homelessness.

We believe that creating pathways for private capital to invest responsibly in affordable housing is a promising and sustainable solution to reducing inequality and homelessness in our country. The Role

We are looking for a Fundraising & Communications Coordinator to join our fundraising team and support the full lifecycle of our grants work, assist in developing communications strategy, and assist in tracking and donor stewardship for our individual giving program.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their career interested in nonprofit development, impact investing, real estate, and housing and homelessness work who is looking to build practical skills in writing, research, systems management, and strategic communications strategies.

What You Will Do

Grant Research, Writing and Reporting

• Research grant opportunities across 7+ target cities, covering foundations, corporate funders, and public sources
• Track deadlines, requirements, and alignment with organizational priorities
• Maintain a clear, organized pipeline of upcoming opportunities
• Draft and edit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials
• Prepare and submit applications
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather data and program outcomes needed for proposals
• Track submitted applications and funding decisions
• Draft funder reports and updates
• Ensure reporting requirements and deadlines are met

CRM and Fundraising Operations

• Help build the operational infrastructure that makes our fundraising scalable
• Maintain and update our CRM with grant activity, deadlines, and contacts
• Support reporting and data organization within our CRM system

Communications & Donor Engagement

• Launch and develop content for a quarterly newsletter and other communications in close collaboration with our VP of Fundraising and Communications
• Assist in launching a LinkedIn communications strategy to drive engagement with our work
• Support the work to launch an individual giving strategy as needed, including tracking donor outreach and developing a stewardship strategy
• Assist with individual donor research
• Develop written materials for funder outreach and stakeholder engagement

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• 3-5 years professional work experience
• Undergraduate degree
• Strong writer with solid research instincts
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products
• Experience in Canva preferred
• Experience in Salesforce, Zoho, or other CRM systems preferred
• Experience in data science, data visualization is a plus
• Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines without hand-holding
• Interest in housing, homelessness, or social impact work
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative, fully remote environment

Details

• This position reports to the VP, Investor Relations and Fundraising
• Fully remote, with a preference for candidates in the Eastern time zone. Candidates in Philadelphia may have the opportunity to work in-office.

• $75,000-$85,000 the starting pay will depend on a variety of factors that may include but are not limited to experience, education, training, and certification.
