Cultural Liaison - Student Exchange Coordinator

Join us at Student Management Group as a Cultural Liaison and help place international high school exchange students in your community. Our students, aged 14-18, arrive on F-1 Visas with excellent English skills and a desire to integrate into American culture.

What is a Cultural Liaison (Area Representative)?

An Area Representative (AR) connects volunteer host families with international students attending local private high schools in your area. You will act as a liaison between the student, host family, school, and the community at large. With host families and students, you will facilitate orientations and conduct monthly check-ins.

Requirements:

• Must be 26 years of age or older.
• Must currently reside in Topeka/Lawrence, KS, or Schuylkill County, PA.
• Must have reliable transportation and access to a computer/internet.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Placement Payments and Bonuses

• $1,200 for a full academic-year placement with supervision. There are possible BONUSES for early placement. There is no minimum quota and no ceiling. You decide how much you want to invest in this part-time, supplemental income opportunity.

Volunteering

• ARs can help coordinate volunteer activities to enable exchange students to give back to the community that has welcomed them.

Travel

• Absolutely! Travelling is at the core of our essence! SMG hosts an international conference every year in the fall. Recent conferences have been held in Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Lisbon, and this year will be in Reykjavik, Iceland, in November!
• If you meet the annual placement requirement to earn the trip, you will be invited to attend our all-expenses-paid Celebration of Success Conference! You also have the opportunity to earn additional trips to bring a guest or two.

Fluency in English is a requirement.
