KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
AI Strategy & Execution
- Lead Silverleaf’s AI & technology roadmap aligned with
organisational goals
- Integrate AI across academics, operations, and internal systems
- Continuously test, iterate, and improve AI-driven solutions
Technical Leadership
- Mentor and upskill the tech team in AI tools and best practices
- Advise on system architecture, code reviews, and engineering
decisions
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of all systems
Product & Innovation
- Build AI-powered products (e.g. AI tutor, internal tools)
- Drive rapid prototyping and product iteration
- Bridge technical complexity for non-technical teams
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with leadership, product, and operations teams
- Translate technical insights into actionable decisions for all teams
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Essential
- CTO, Tech Lead or Senior Engineer experience (startup a plus)
- Strong hands-on AI/ML skills — LLMs, APIs, automation tools
- Track record building and scaling tech products or platforms
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Highly Valued
- Experience in EdTech, education, or social impact organisations
- Background working in Africa or emerging markets
- Cloud platforms and system architecture expertise
- AI product development and prompt engineering
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili
