We’re now expanding our digital presence to include a booking platform for tourists, travelers, and international students who want to experience Africa responsibly while contributing to local communities.
Internship Role Overview
As a Website & Booking Systems Intern, you will:
- Develop & Optimize Our Website
- Maintain and improve our current website (WordPress/Shopify or custom CMS)
- Ensure mobile-friendly, fast-loading, and accessible design for African / GLOBALLLY users
- Implement SEO best practices to attract global travelers and students
- Build a Booking System
- Create a simple, secure booking platform for:
- Tourist experiences (e.g., eco-tours, cultural exchanges)
- Travel services(e.g., local guides, transport)
- Student housing/short-term stays
- Integrate payment gateways (PayPal, local options like Flutterwave)
- Set up automated confirmations & reminders
- Showcase Social Impact
- Design a *real-time tracker* showing how bookings contribute to the 10% community fund
- Add storytelling features (photo galleries, testimonials, project updates)
- Support Marketing & UX
- Work with the team to ensure smooth user experience
- Help promote the booking system via social media/email
Who We’re Looking For
✅ Basic web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
✅ Experience with WordPress/Shopify or willingness to learn
✅ Interest in booking systems, e-commerce, or SaaS platforms
✅ Passion for sustainable tourism & community impact
✅ Bonus: Knowledge of PayPal API, Flutterwave, or booking plugins
✅ Bonus: Understanding of African digital trends (mobile-first, low-bandwidth optimization)
