Heart to Heart Hospice

Heart to Heart Hospice of Southwest Indiana is looking for volunteers to assist our patients, families and our team in bringing quality hospice care to our community. Hospice volunteers show their compassion and care in many ways by visiting the patient and family at home, in the nursing home, or in the hospital. You may choose to be a Direct Patient Care Volunteer and/or an Administrative Volunteer. Regardless of your choice you are a valuable member of our Heart to Heart team!

Direct Patient Care Activities include but not limited to:

• Reading books or news

• Running errands

• Caregiver relief

• Making phone calls

• Writing letters

• Preparing meals

• Companionship activities-life review, hobbies, expressing interests

• Playing cards or games

• Bereavement activities

Administrative Volunteer Activities include but not limited to:

• Answering phones

• Filing and light office work

• Making deliveries of supplies

• Making bereavement calls or patient tuck in calls

• Assisting with community relations
