Go Solar Group originated, as a mission group in 2008, with an interest to provide charity support to Zambian orphanages. While helping communities in Africa, Go Solar employees realized what the power of solar products could do within these off-grid communities. After rounds of donations and applying for grants, Go Solar International was formed.
Original support came in the form of donations – a few small solar arrays to help produce light in orphanages and community rooms. Now, Go Solar International is a full-fledged social enterprise helping hundreds of families apply for and repay microloans for solar products to replace their wasteful, noxious kerosene products.
