Specialized Housing, Inc. (SHI) manages 12 homes in the Boston metro area and 2 homes in South Portland, Maine for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, including individuals who have autism. Our model depends on quality staff who care and want to assist these individuals in leading a more independent life. Our homes have a full-time manager, live-in staff who live rent free in exchange for services, and other relief staff who provide coverage on the weekends and when the manager needs time off. Each house also has a clinical director who provides supervision to the manager and meets regularly with residents of the house.
