Informed Voices Phase III - Fact checking and Media Literacy course

Informed Voices is a 10-week live, interactive learning program designed to empower young leaders with the critical thinking, media literacy, and verification skills required to navigate the digital information ecosystem responsibly.

Through live sessions, expert facilitation, peer learning, and practical activities, participants will:

• Build awareness on how misinformation & disinformation are created, amplified, and weaponised online.
• Strengthen fact-checking, source evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making skills.
• Engage in critical discussions on media ethics, narrative manipulation, and digital influence.
• Design and implement a community education initiative to apply their learning in a real-world context.
• The course will be conducted fully online via Zoom and welcomes youth from across the Asia Pacific region.

• Duration: 10 weeks (Every Thursday)
• Start Date: 4th December 2025
• Time: 7.30 PM (GMT +5.30)
• Platform: Zoom
• Participants: 30 selected participants
• Format: Pre-reading materials, live zoom sessions, post-session activities, feedback forms, reflection diaries.
• Registration Fee: LKR 4,000 (non-refundable)

Please note that participants are only required to pay the registration fee. There is no additional course fee.

Application Criteria:

• Age Group: 18-35 years
• Geographic Focus: Asia Pacific
• Language: Proficiency in English (course is conducted in English)
• Commitment: Ability to attend all 10 sessions, complete post-session activities, provide feedback, and execute the community education activity
• Access: Reliable internet, access to Zoom, and ability to turn on video during sessions
