The NYCHA Law Department’s Legal Counsel Division provides legal advice to the agency in legislative, regulatory, privacy, and compliance matters and other initiatives. The unit assists the agency in formulating and implementing policies and procedures and provides support to internal business partners by researching a host of legal issues affecting their operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Admission to the New York State bar and one year of satisfactory legal experience subsequent to admission to any bar.
Compensation and assignment level are based on experience.
To be assigned as Agency Attorney Level II, candidate must have two years of full-time, satisfactory legal experience subsequent to admission to any bar.
To be assigned to Agency Attorney Level III, candidate must have three years of full-time, satisfactory legal experience subsequent to admission to any bar.
