The mission of the Department of General Services (DGS) is to elevate the quality of life for the District with superior construction, first-rate maintenance and expert real estate management. Within DGS is the Facilities Management Division (FMD). FMD is responsible for general and preventive maintenance, operations management and oversight of D.C. Government-owned facilities and grounds.
