Oswego AmeriCorps serves local needs of youth in the community by partnering with various nonprofits, faith-based organizations and public agencies. Terms of service are usually from 9-12 months, but may vary depending on the site. A living allowance is divided and disbursed every two weeks during the term of service. After successful completion of their term, AmeriCorps members also earn an AmeriCorps Education Award that can be used to pay for college or graduate school at Title IV schools, or to repay qualified student loans.
