NYC Independent Budget Office

The mission of the Independent Budget Office, an independent city agency, is to enhance understanding of New York City’s budget, public policy and economy through independent analysis. IBO envisions a City of New Yorkers engaging with their government and shaping their futures, using accessible, transparent, and timely budget and policy information. IBO does this by publishing reports and analyses, and by responding to requests from elected officials and their staffs, community boards, civic groups, academics, the press, and the public.

 IBO’s research and executive staff consists of about 50 professionals with diverse experience and training in public policy, public administration, economics, finance, business, and law.
