The LBJ School Washington Center is a graduate school program and public policy center located in Washington DC, and part of the LBJ School of Public Affairs in Austin, Texas, which, in turn, is part of the University of Texas at Austin. The LBJ School Washington Center awards Masters of Public Affairs and Masters of Global Policy Studies degrees upon completion of two semesters at the LBJ School in Austin, and two semesters at the LBJ School Washington Center, which includes a 32-hour per week professional position in DC with a public policy organization, either within the Federal government or within the larger DC policy community. Students who elect the Washington DC track of the LBJ School graduate six months prior to their classmates in Austin.
