The City of Sun Prairie Historical Library and Museum is housed in a 1924 red brick building located at 115 E. Main Street in Downtown Sun Prairie. It serves the community as the headquarters of the Museum. Past uses of the building include the City Library, City Offices, the Original site of the Colonial Club Senior Center, the Village Council Chambers, and a World War II Red Cross Center.
The Sun Prairie Historical Library and Museum offers a variety of services and programs to the community and visitors from out of town. With a collection of over 30,000 artifacts, researchers can pursue a wide variety of topics in their historical research. The Museum also offers several exhibits on Sun Prairie History and life in Wisconsin. Programs are offered in conjunction with these exhibits. The Museum is in its 50th year and is looking for volunteers to help share the community history and also explore relevant topics on the world today in which we live.
