Evanston Commission on Aging

The Evanston Commission on Aging has advocated on behalf of older Evanstonians since 1976. The Commission on Aging consists of 15 individuals who are appointed by the Mayor, and whose mission is to identify the needs of older residents and to develop programs to meet those needs.

The Evanston Commission on Aging has established housing and transportation programs that enhance the ability of seniors to remain in their own homes and advocacy programs that protect the rights of long-term care residents. The Commission sponsors educational forums and provides information about the array of senior services available in Evanston.

Commission staff respond to over 1,000 requests for assistance annually.
