A unique education agency, the Texas AgriLife Extension Service teaches Texans wherever they live, extending research-based knowledge to benefit their families and communities.
Extension education includes programs that demonstrate the latest technology and proven practices in agriculture and natural resource conservation. Others provide workforce training, support military families, improve human health, and strengthen food security and emergency preparedness. The 4-H youth development program annually engages some 593,000 youth, ages 5 to 18.
AgriLife Extension achieves this outreach via its statewide network of professional educators, volunteers, and county offices–a program delivery system that also serves hundreds of school districts, government agencies, universities, community colleges, and other organizations through partnership and collaboration.
