The Office of the Public Defender is dedicated to ensuring justice for indigent persons accused of crimes in Contra Costa County.

Our overriding goal is to serve the best interests of our clients in everything that we do. We dedicate all available resources to our clients' cases, thereby ensuring that they receive the excellent, individualized representation that all citizens deserve. Justice can only be served when the most vulnerable among us are treated with the same attention, dignity and respect as the most powerful.
