    POSITION SUMMARY

The Enrollment & Program Director oversees enrollment management and auxiliary programs at Mountain Laurel Waldorf School. This is a full-time, year-round position that serves as the primary point of contact for prospective and current families, managing the full enrollment lifecycle while also developing and administering auxiliary programming and the marketing that supports both. This position reports to the Head Administrator and plays a key role in the financial sustainability and community vitality of the school.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Enrollment

    ● Manages the full enrollment cycle, from initial inquiry through enrollment and departure, maintaining accurate records and timely communications at each stage

    ● Serves as a welcoming and knowledgeable gateway to MLWS and Waldorf education for prospective families – providing information, answering questions, and maintaining ongoing relationships with current families as a liaison between families and the school

    ● Pursues outreach that broadens access to Waldorf education — actively cultivating relationships with families from a range of backgrounds, economic circumstances and communities, and supporting the school's commitment to building a student body that reflects the demographics of the Hudson Valley

    ● Develops communication protocols and organizes open houses, tours, and other admissions events to shepherd prospective families through the process

    ● Brings Mountain Laurel into the wider community through outreach events — including community festivals, farmers markets, and pop-up information sessions hosted in partnership with local organizations — creating accessible opportunities for families to learn about Waldorf education

    ● Collaborates with Early Childhood faculty and cultivates feeder school relationships to develop a healthy enrollment pipeline

    ● Collaborates with faculty to ensure admissions decisions are well-informed and communicated in a timely manner

    ● Assists Head Administrator with enrollment submissions including BEDS and DASL

    ● Manages the school's marketing and communications presence in support of enrollment and programs — including social media, paid advertising, and the design of on-brand collateral using Canva and similar tools

    Programs

    ● Develops and oversees Waldorf-inspired Summer Program, After School Clubs, and After Care, including staffing, coordination, marketing and communications

    ● Works with Business Director to develop and manage program budgets and hiring

    ● Creates and maintains registration systems for all auxiliary programs using Jumbula and other platforms

    ● Assists with school-wide programming including fundraising events and festivals, as needed

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience

    ● Demonstrated experience in school admissions, enrollment management, or community outreach, with a background in education, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field strongly preferred

    ● Experience in a private, independent, or alternative school setting strongly preferred

    ● Demonstrated success in relationship-building with diverse families and community partners

    ● Experience developing and managing programs or events, including logistics, budgeting, and communications

    ● Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or content creation – including graphic design, social media management, and email marketing

    Waldorf-Specific Knowledge

    ● Familiarity with Waldorf educational philosophy is strongly preferred; a willingness to learn and deepen this understanding is essential

    ● Ability to speak authentically and accessibly about Waldorf education to prospective families with no prior exposure

    Interpersonal Capacities

    ● Warm, approachable presence with genuine enthusiasm for connecting families to the school community

    ● Strong relationship-building skills across a range of stakeholders: prospective families, current families, faculty, and external partners

    ● Collaborative team member who works effectively with faculty and administrative colleagues

    ● Exercises good judgment and discretion when handling sensitive family information and admissions decisions

    ● Capacity to work both independently and as an active contributor to a small, close-knit school community

    ● Comfort with a flexible schedule that includes regular weekend and evening availability for open houses, community outreach events, and school functions

    Core Competencies

    ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling outreach materials and manage multi-channel family communications

    ● Strong visual communication instincts and proficiency with Canva or equivalent graphic design tools

    ● Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines

    ● Proficiency with enrollment and database management systems; familiarity with TADS or similar platforms a plus

    ● Comfort with productivity, communication and design tools (Google Workspace, Constant Contact, Jumbula, Canva) and openness to learning new platforms

    ● Data-oriented approach to tracking enrollment trends and reporting to school leadership

    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range: $50,000-$65,000, with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, tuition remission, professional development and paid holidays per the school calendar.
