    About the Position

    Kesem is seeking a Marketing Manager, Integrated Marketing & Storytelling , to develop and execute compelling storytelling and marketing initiatives that drive engagement, recruitment, and fundraising. Reporting to the CMO, this role will involve creating a continuous flow of meaningful Kesem stories, managing key marketing channels, and leading the integrated thinking and execution of strategic campaigns that amplify Kesem’s mission.

    The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with strong writing and marketing skills coupled with marketing analytics acumen to drive optimization and decision-making. They will also have experience with designing and executing comprehensive creative briefs, and demonstrated understanding of related development and stewardship best practices. They should be detail-oriented, collaborative, and proactive in discovering innovative ways to enhance Kesem’s brand and engage key audiences.

    As a vital internal and external-facing member of the organization, this individual will demonstrate a deep understanding of the needs of our key constituents, including student leaders, alumni, camper families, and donors. Additionally, they will be comfortable interacting with camper families, board members, and the press. This individual will inspire and engage others to take action in support of Kesem’s mission.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    Integrated Marketing, Collaboration & Strategy (20%)

    • Working with the CMO, define and drive growth ideas for key target audiences in service of Kesem goals for recruitment and fundraising.
    • Coordinate external communications and marketing initiatives across departments to ensure consistency and impact.
    • Partner with the CMO to develop strategies that drive audience engagement and brand awareness.
    • Utilize data and analytics to assess campaign performance and optimize future initiatives.

    Storytelling & Content Development (40%)

    • Work cross-functionally to collect, refine, and distribute a continuous pipeline of impactful stories from the Kesem community, including families, volunteers, and supporters.
    • Write, design, and create compelling content for emails, newsletters, blogs, donor communications (e.g., fundraising appeals, one-sheeters, impact reports, and other collateral).
    • Craft messaging that resonates with Kesem’s key audiences and aligns with the organization’s brand voice.

    Campaigns & Digital Strategy (40%)

    • Working with Marketing Coordinator, build, execute and optimize leveraging marketing analytics multi-channel marketing campaigns to support fundraising, stewardship, and recruitment efforts.
    • Manage and optimize content across key digital platforms, including email, social media, website, and events.
    • Lead ongoing management and optimization of Kesem's website, ensuring a seamless user experience, consistent design, and compelling messaging.
    • Develop and execute plans to empower and enable Kesem volunteers and supporters to share stories and advocate for the organization.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, content creation, or a related field.
    • Proven ability to develop and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, social media, website, events).
    • Experience in storytelling and content development, with a strong understanding of how to engage different audiences.
    • Expertise in email marketing, digital advertising, and social media strategy.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple campaigns and deadlines.
    • Ability to collect, curate, and develop impactful stories from the organization’s community (families, volunteers, supporters).
    • Strong copywriting and editing skills for marketing materials, newsletters, blog posts, and donor communications.
    • Ability to develop visual storytelling assets in collaboration with designers, videographers, and photographers.
    • Understanding of brand voice, messaging consistency, and audience engagement.
    • Experience in designing and executing fundraising, stewardship, and recruitment campaigns, briefs, and project plans.
    • Ability to manage email marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot).
    • Knowledge of social media best practices, including content planning, engagement strategies, and paid advertising.
    • Ability to create marketing collateral (e.g., reports, presentations, flyers, video) to support organizational goals.
    • Experience defining, setting up, tracking, analyzing and optimizing campaign performance metrics (eg., open rates, CTR, engagement, conversion rates, etc.).
    • Ability to optimize marketing strategies based on insights from social media, email, and website analytics.
    • Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, social media analytics, and A/B testing methodologies.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with fundraising, programming, and volunteer teams to align marketing efforts.
    • Experience managing external vendors (designers, writers, agencies) to support marketing initiatives.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively represent the organization’s brand.
    • Passion for Kesem’s mission and the ability to translate its impact into compelling marketing materials.

    Additional Information

    • The Marketing Manager, Storytelling & Campaigns role is a full-time and remote position, with responsibilities that require at least 40 hours of work per week, with some weeks requiring more.
    • It is expected that the Marketing Manager, Storytelling & Campaigns will be available for all staff calls, team meetings, and project meetings.
    • Travel may include staff meetings, national fundraising events and other engagements. On average, the Marketing Manager, Storytelling & Campaigns should expect to travel 3-5 times per year, all within the United States.
