Staff Attorney

A Staff Attorney at MJM should have a desire to work with populations affected by family violence and child abuse/neglect. The ideal candidate works in a compassionate and empathetic manner while providing quality and competent family law representation to low-income clients from diverse backgrounds. Core responsibilities of a Staff Attorney include:

• Providing high-quality legal representation to low-income and indigent clients in family law matters in Tarrant and Johnson Counties, Texas.
• Interviewing potential clients and witnesses with cultural competence and trauma-informed practices.
• Conducting case and legal research, gathering and reviewing evidence, and advising clients on their legal rights and options.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Representing clients in court and at mediations.
• Managing a caseload involving significant litigation advocacy.
