As a Residential Counselor/Direct Support Professional you will be providing direct care for adults with developmental disabilities. Residential counselors strive to foster a home-like environment for residents and ensure they are receiving the best quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow all instructions from management and the Residential Administrator.
- Comply with schedules, licensing rules, and facility procedures.
- Ensure continuous supervision and the safety of all clients.
- Report client concerns immediately to the Residential Administrator.
- Follow medication, safety, cleaning, and emergency procedures.
- Assist or supervise client grooming as required.
- Complete daily shift reports, payroll sheets, and required documentation.
- Support client development using individualized teaching strategies.
- Contribute to Individual Service Plans (ISP) and progress updates.
- Maintain professional communication and confidentiality.
- Document daily attendance and activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Through Villa’s various levels of support and assistance, individuals are reaching their greatest level of independence; living, working, playing and being active in their community. *A valid CA driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation are preferred to safely and effectively support special needs clients in achieving their goals.
- Attend medical appointments and therapy sessions.
- Participate in community activities, events, and recreational outings.
- Access educational or vocational programs.
- Run necessary errands, such as grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions
Compensation: $19.00 - $19.25 per hour + $1,000.00 (paid in increments over the course of 12 months).
- Contingency: The sign-on bonus is not applicable to rehires.
Available work schedules:
- Tues, Thurs 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM + Sun 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM (24 hrs/week)
- Fri, Sat, & Sun 2:00PM to 10:00PM (24hrs/week)
- Mon,Tues,Wed,Thurs 6:00am -10:00am+Fri 2:00pm-10:00pm+Sun6:00am-2:00pm (32 hrs/week)
Work Location: Pasadena, CA 91107; In person
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Experience assisting special needs individuals; 1 year preferred.
- Satisfactorily pass a background fingerprinting clearance from DOJ/FBI Community Care Licensing/Dept. of Social Services and the California Department of Public Health.
- Satisfactorily complete a physical & TB screening.
- Valid CA Driver’s License (preferred) with at least 3 years of verifiable driving history. **Driving is an essential function of the position, and alternative transportation methods, such as ride-hailing services, taxis, carpooling, bicycling, or walking, would not be comparable in terms of travel time or cost. This position requires driving residents with special needs to: Medical appointments and therapy sessions. Community activities, events, and recreational outings. Educational or vocational programs. Necessary errands, such as grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions.
