Jenesse Center, Inc. is a nationally recognized non-profit domestic violence prevention and
intervention organization. Working locally, nationally, and globally, Jenesse shines a light on violence against women, girls, men, and boys while advocating for the basic human right for all people to live in peace within their homes and relationships.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Manager of Development is responsible for supporting the execution of the organization's development and communications strategy to advance its mission, programs, and long-term sustainability. This position supports annual and major giving, donor stewardship, special events, and marketing and communications initiatives. The role also serves as the primary liaison with consultants and contract professionals supporting fundraising, marketing, and event projects, helping ensure projects align with organizational goals and brand standards. Working collaboratively with the Chief Advancement Officer, Director of Development, and other staff, the Manager of Development helps foster a culture of philanthropy and supports the organization in meeting its fundraising goals.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Annual Giving & Donor Stewardship
- Manage the day-to-day administration of annual giving campaigns and donor appeals.
- Assist with donor communications and stewardship activities to support donor engagement and retention.
- Prepare and distribute donor mailings, acknowledgment letters, and other fundraising communications.
- Schedule and coordinate donor meetings, cultivation activities, and related logistics.
Marketing, Communications, & Events
- Help ensure consistent branding and messaging across fundraising and communications materials.
- Coordinate the development and distribution of print and digital collateral, including newsletters, donor appeals, promotional materials, press releases, and other development-related communications.
- Partner with program staff to gather stories, photos, and program updates that demonstrate organizational impact for donor engagement, marketing materials, social media, and fundraising initiatives.
- Coordinate marketing and communications activities that enhance community awareness and organizational visibility.
- Manage the organization's social media content calendar and website updates in collaboration with the Chief Advancement Officer and other staff.
- Collaborate with internal staff, consultants, and vendors to ensure the timely production and distribution of marketing and communications materials.
- Coordinate event communications, vendor logistics, and post-event follow-up.
- Compile and analyze event participation, feedback, and other metrics to inform future planning and continuous improvement.
Donor Database & CRM Administration
- Maintain the donor CRM (Blackbaud) and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of donor records.
- Process donor gifts and prepare timely acknowledgment letters and tax receipts.
- Maintain donor files and support documentation in accordance with organizational policies and recordkeeping standards.
- Generate donor, campaign, and fundraising reports to support development activities and decision-making.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and other development-related materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of nonprofit development, fundraising, or administrative experience.
- Experience supporting fundraising initiatives, donor relations, and special events.
- Experience with donor databases/CRM systems (Blackbaud experience preferred).
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and project coordination skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, email marketing platforms, and social media tools.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Jenesse Center.
- Valid California driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation required.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The position is a hybrid position in Los Angeles, CA. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision partially covered, healthcare, FSA, group life and AD&D insurance, paid time off, and a retirement saving plan with agency matching.
Salary Range:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00
