    Position Overview

    Counsel for Justice’s Domestic Violence Project (DVP) operates a walk-in legal clinic at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. For more than 40 years we have helped self-represented litigants navigate the restraining order process and connect with supportive services. We are seeking a bilingual English/Spanish Receptionist to support daily clinic operations and provide administrative and logistical support to staff, volunteers, and litigants. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable with technology, and committed to creating a welcoming and efficient clinic environment. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday during courthouse operating hours. Occasional schedule adjustments may be required to meet program needs.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Staff the front desk and manage litigant intake, clinic queues, and flow in a welcoming and trauma-informed manner.
    • Provide English-Spanish interpretation and translation as needed.
    • Provide basic technology support to litigants, staff, and volunteers and with the setup and maintenance of clinic workstations and equipment.
    • Assist with volunteer calendaring, check-in, and other administrative needs.
    • Enter and maintain accurate litigant, service, and volunteer information in LegalServer.
    • Assist the Directing Attorney with data collection and reporting and maintaining program files, materials, and supplies.
    • Provide general administrative support to the Directing Attorney and other DVP staff and perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Fluency in English and Spanish.
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to multitask and remain professional in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
    • Ability to communicate sensitively with individuals who may be experiencing crisis or trauma.
    • Comfort with Microsoft Office, data entry, and standard office technology.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Receptionist, front desk, administrative, customer service, or similar experience.
    • Experience in a legal services, nonprofit, courthouse, or social services setting.

    Benefícios

    • This is an in-person role at Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Downtown Los Angeles.
    • Role reports to the Directing Attorney of the Domestic Violence Project.
